Senior Project Manager

The Senior Project Manager is responseivable for fulfillment work related to the production of machines, tools, products and other equipment related to BuhlerPrince's product portfolio, with substantial latitude for unreviewed action or decision. These projects are large in scope and frequently involve complex engineering problems. This person is responsible for the profit and loss of the assigned project, ensuring it is delivered on time, within budget and cash targets, and to the required quality, while optimizing the project margin.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the project execution strategy from purchase order through final acceptance including the closure of the project and snag list items
  • Leads the project team to achieve and further improve the cost, schedule, quality, and EHS targets
  • Ensures that the project schedule baseline is signed by the parties involved at the start of the project
  • Performs proper risk and opportunity management
  • Ensure proper deviation management within the project. Assess, approve, and expedite technical aspects of change orders and defines effective claim strategies towards customers, partners, subcontractors, etc.
  • Responsible for the site briefing meeting and ensures that all site relevant documents are handed over to site personnel
  • Capture return of experience and best practices and apply lessons learned to future projects
Required Skills and Experience
  • 4-year Engineering or Business degree or other equivalent training or experience
  • Strong project management skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate both internally and externally at all levels of an organization
  • Experience working in a team environment with strong leadership, sound judgement, and decision-making skills
  • Experience managing work group without having direct authority
  • Ability to anticipate, identify, and manage risk
  • Capable of managing customer relationships
  • Highly developed computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Understanding of die casting machinery specifications, automation, and die casting processes
  • 5+ years of professional project management experience
  • PMP certification
  • German language skills a plus
