Job Description Pay: $21.39 - $28.50 per hour Job description: Salary: $21.39 - 28.50 per hour Reference: JOB - 6216 QA Technician (SMT & Mechanical Inspection) Location: Chestnut Ridge, NY Schedule: Monday-Friday | First Shift (Approximately 8:00 AM-5:00 PM) Pay: $44,500-$59,300 annually ($21.39-$28.50/hour) + Overtime Eligible Join a Stable, Growing Manufacturing Team We're seeking a hands-on QA Technician to perform SMT and mechanical inspections in a fast-paced electronics manufacturing environment. If you have experience with PCB assemblies, microscope inspection, SMT soldering, and precision measuring equipment, this is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative team focused on quality, continuous improvement, and long-term career growth. You'll work closely with Manufacturing, Operations, and Engineering to ensure products meet quality standards while supporting PCB rework, inspection, and process improvements

Responsibilities Perform incoming SMT and PCBA inspections to verify compliance with engineering specifications. Conduct electrical and mechanical inspections following documented quality procedures. Complete PCB assembly modifications, soldering, and rework as required.

Perform mechanical receiving inspections using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring equipment. Document inspection failures and process return-to-vendor (RTV) documentation, including communicating with suppliers when needed. Record inspection results accurately and enter quality data into the ERP system.

Read and interpret PCB assembly drawings, schematics, and technical documentation. Participate in root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives. Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards.

Cross-train to support cable and crimp inspections as needed. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. 2-4 years of experience in electronics manufacturing, SMT, PCB assembly, quality inspection, or a related manufacturing environment.

Experience performing microscope inspections. Hands-on SMT soldering and PCB rework experience required. Experience using precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.

Ability to read blueprints, PCB drawings, schematics, and assembly documentation. Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity. Experience with hand tools and soldering equipment.

Proficient with Microsoft Office. Strong communication and documentation skills. IPC J-STD-001 and/or IPC-A-610 certification is preferred but not required.
