Job Summary
The SMT Operator is responsible for setting up and operating Surface Mount Technology (SMT) equipment to assemble printed circuit boards (PCBs) according to specifications and production schedules, ensuring high-quality output.
Job Responsibilities

Set up and operate SMT machines (e.g., pick-and-place, reflow ovens, screen printers) for various PCB assembly processes.
Load and unload components and PCBs onto machines, ensuring correct component placement and orientation.
Monitor SMT machine operation, identify and resolve minor issues or stoppages to maintain production flow.
Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of SMT equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
Conduct visual inspections of assembled PCBs for defects such as missing components, incorrect polarity, solder bridges, or poor solder joints.
Interpret and follow assembly drawings, work instructions, and bill of materials (BOMs).
Document production activities, including machine settings, component usage, and any identified issues.
Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines, including proper handling of materials and equipment.
Collaborate with engineers and technicians to troubleshoot complex SMT-related problems and improve processes.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
Job Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating SMT equipment in an electronics manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in setting up and operating pick-and-place machines, screen printers, and reflow ovens.
Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
Strong attention to detail and ability to perform precise manual tasks.
