Job description

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the job include but are not limited to:
  • Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times, while providing personalized service to hotel guests.
  • Communicate effectively with guests and fellow team members.
  • Basic electrical and plumbing repairs.
  • Carpentry and screening.
  • Interior and exterior painting.
  • Changing locks, installing smoke alarms.
  • Pool maintenance.
  • Maintain shop and tools in clean, orderly and safe condition.
  • Periodically clean gutters, drain water heaters.
  • Provide assistance to other team members and departments to contribute to the best overall performance of the department and hotel.
  • Deliver DKN's "Home Away From Home" experience
  • Perform other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management.

Supervisory Responsibility:
None.
Independent Judgment Used:
Often within the guidelines established by management and to the extent of operating within the Company policies and procedures.
Working Conditions/Environment:
Entire interior and exterior of property, storage area, maintenance shop, pool equipment room. Working with small tools, chemicals and paints.
Knowledge/Education/Experience:
Minimum of two (1) year of maintenance experience. Basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, screening and locks. Proper tool and chemical use.
Skills/Abilities/Other Requirements:
English speaking or bilingual. Ability to prioritize, organize and make good judgments. Valid driver's license with proof of auto liability insurance. Good driving record. Dependable.
Physical Requirements:
Frequent walking indoors/outdoors, climbing stairs and ladders, standing, sitting. Repetitive bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, pushing, pulling, kneeling, crawling, squatting, lifting and carrying. Reaching above, at and below shoulder level. Lifting and carrying unassisted up to 50 lbs. or with use of dolly. Exposure to chemicals.
