Registered Nurse (RN) – Endoscopy

Location: Highlands Ranch Surgery Center

Position Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) – Endoscopy develops and implements an individualized perioperative plan of care for patients undergoing endoscopic procedures. This role provides comprehensive nursing care across the perioperative continuum, ensures patient safety, and serves as a patient advocate while collaborating with a multidisciplinary care team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement individualized perioperative plans of care

  • Advocate for patient safety, rights, dignity, and privacy

  • Administer medications safely using the 8 Rights of Medication Administration

  • Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures, including moderate sedation and MAC

  • Perform ongoing assessments and interventions to maintain physiologic stability and prevent infection

  • Ensure proper scope and equipment preparation; recognize and troubleshoot malfunctions

  • Practice aseptic technique and adhere to infection‑prevention standards

  • Educate patients and support persons regarding procedures, recovery, and care expectations

  • Communicate patient status and provide accurate hand‑off reports

  • Document care accurately and timely

  • Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team members

  • Participate in quality improvement, training, and safety huddles

  • Comply with SCA policies, regulatory standards, and professional guidelines

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

  • Current state RN license in good standing

  • Minimum of one (1) year of GI, OR, and/or medical‑surgical nursing experience preferred

  • Current BLS/BCLS certification (or completion within 90 days of hire)

  • Current ACLS certification (or completion within 90 days of hire)

  • PALS certification required if pediatric care is included in the facility’s scope of services (or completion within 90 days of hire)

  • Specialty certification in GI Nursing preferred
