YOUR Keys to Success -

  • Cultivate strong relationships with - and serve as the main point of contact for your portfolio of clients, key vendors, and carriers.
  • Respond to clients, insurance carriers, sales team, and supervisors’ correspondences and requests in a timely, effective, and professional manner.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge on marine related carrier products, guidelines, underwriting, and legislative changes in order to make effective recommendations to clients.
  • Analyze and compare current marine exposures to develop renewal or new business specs for marketing.
  • Process and submit new and renewal clients for marketing and placement, review and summarize quotes for competitiveness and accuracy, and negotiate rates when appropriate.
  • Champion SMI’s spirit and core values with every client interaction and community connection

What YOU Bring -

  • 3+ years of account management experience in a brokerage or captive agency with an active Property & Casualty insurance license
  • Strong knowledge of Property & Casualty insurance
  • Highly motivated, goal oriented, hungry and driven to learn marine coverages, carriers and policies
  • Superior communication, negotiation, presentation, organization and listening skills
  • Strong customer focus and follow up skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment within tight deadlines. Highly-organized and strong time management skills
