Role Overview
The Business Analyst is responsible for supporting enterprise software initiatives focused on Microsoft business application platforms, including Dynamics 365 Case Management and the Power Platform. This role serves as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring business requirements are accurately captured, documented, and translated into actionable solutions. The position plays a critical role in business process improvement, Agile delivery, testing coordination, and successful implementation of technology solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Business Analysis & Requirements Management
  • Elicit, analyze, document, and validate business, functional, and technical requirements
  • Conduct stakeholder interviews, workshops, and discovery sessions to gather requirements and define project objectives
  • Develop user stories, acceptance criteria, business rules, and functional specifications
  • Maintain requirements traceability throughout the project lifecycle using Azure DevOps
  • Perform gap analysis and impact assessments for system enhancements and business process changes
Business Process Modeling & Improvement
  • Analyze existing business processes and workflows to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement
  • Create process models, workflow diagrams, and business process documentation using UML, BPMN, and other modeling techniques
  • Recommend process improvements aligned with organizational goals and business needs
  • Support strategic transformation and modernization initiatives
Agile Delivery & Product Support
  • Work within Agile methodologies including Scrum and Feature Driven Design (FDD)
  • Participate in backlog management, sprint planning, refinement sessions, reviews, and retrospectives
  • Collaborate with product owners, developers, architects, and QA teams throughout the development lifecycle
  • Ensure requirements are development-ready and aligned with project priorities
Testing & Quality Assurance
  • Develop User Acceptance Testing (UAT) strategies, test cases, and test scenarios
  • Coordinate and facilitate UAT activities with business users and stakeholders
  • Validate delivered solutions against documented requirements and acceptance criteria
  • Support defect management, issue resolution, and solution validation activities
Microsoft Business Applications Support
  • Support projects involving Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power Platform, and related technologies
  • Assist in translating business needs into platform capabilities and solution designs
  • Collaborate with technical teams implementing workflow automation and business application solutions
  • Participate in system rollout and post-implementation support activities
Documentation & Governance
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation including:

  • Provide ongoing support to business users and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Prepare status updates, project reports, and stakeholder communications
Mentoring & Team Support
  • Coach and mentor team members and business staff on business analysis best practices
  • Share knowledge and support process improvement initiatives across the organization
  • Participate in project meetings and contribute to successful project delivery
Required Qualification
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst on technology projects
  • Experience supporting software development and system implementation projects
  • Strong experience gathering, documenting, and validating business requirements
  • Experience creating user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications
  • Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps or GitHub for backlog and requirements management
  • Experience developing and executing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities
  • Experience analyzing workflows and recommending process improvements
  • Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies including Scrum and Feature Driven Design
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power Platform, or similar business application platforms
  • Extensive experience in business process modeling and process improvement initiatives
