Responsibilities:

The Senior Consultant/Economist/Technologist will support Barrow Wise's Illinois University project and perform the following duties:

  • Perform a comprehensive economic, community, and environmental impact analysis focused on the implementation of mid and last-mile smart logistics solutions and the associated equipment and software's design, manufacturing, and maintenance
  • Analyze and document green technology adoption and cutting-edge logistical approaches in the context of Illinois' mid and last-mile logistics
  • Assess the economic and environmental ramifications of the startup, expansion, deployment, or attractions of:
    • Companies producing or with the ability to produce drones, eVTOLs, electric commercial vehicles, electric delivery bicycles, autonomous cranes and container handling equipment, electric terminal trucks, batteries, battery storage packs, solar panels, and hydrogen/fuel cells.
    • Infrastructure companies developing eVTOL and terminal tractor sites and those developing integrated logistics control software.
    • Industrial parks deploying equipment in myriad distribution hubs, intermodal setups, and delivery operations spanning Illinois, thereby improving operations.
    • Businesses using ASL solutions; and
    • Companies maintaining electric logistics equipment.
  • Deliver expertise in autonomous systems, drones, new commercial air taxis, sensors, IoT, blockchain, and future-forward logistics

An ideal candidate has the following:

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Master's Degree or higher in a related field
  • Eight or more years delivering studies and solutions involving emerging technologies
