Smart Road Technology (SRT), a division of CMES, Inc., is seeking an experienced and motivated Traffic Signal Foreman to lead field crews in the installation, maintenance, and repair of traffic signal and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) infrastructure. This role is responsible for overseeing daily field operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications, GDOT standards, and company expectations.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong knowledge of roadway electrical systems, traffic signal construction, crew coordination, and jobsite safety.
Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Crew Management
  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of field crews
  • Plan work schedules, assign tasks, and monitor productivity
  • Lead crews in a professional, safety-focused manner
  • Provide mentorship and on-the-job training to team members
  • Maintain strong communication with project management and field personnel
Project Execution
  • Oversee installation, maintenance, and repair of traffic signal systems and ITS infrastructure
  • Read and interpret project plans, blueprints, and specifications
  • Ensure all work is completed according to project requirements and quality standards
  • Coordinate equipment, materials, and labor needs for daily operations
  • Monitor project progress and assist with resolving field issues
Safety & Compliance
  • Enforce company safety policies and traffic control standards
  • Conduct toolbox talks and safety meetings
  • Ensure crews properly utilize PPE and follow OSHA/GDOT regulations
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite environment
Communication & Coordination
  • Serve as liaison between field crews, project managers, engineers, inspectors, and subcontractors
  • Communicate daily production updates, delays, and jobsite needs
  • Support project documentation and reporting requirements
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of traffic signal, ITS, or roadway construction experience
  • Proven leadership experience managing field crews
  • Strong understanding of traffic signal systems, roadway electrical infrastructure, and construction practices
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Experience working on DOT or municipal roadway projects preferred
Requirements
  • Valid drivers license required (CDL preferred)
  • IMSA Certification Level II or higher preferred
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Ability to lift materials, operate equipment, and perform physical field duties as needed
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules, including nights or weekends when required
