About this opportunity:
The Manufacturing Analyst / Engineering intern will work with the Engineering Manager and Operations Engineering group to improve efficiency, improve quality and site operating systems, and eliminate wastes in manufacturing processes. Specifically, the intern will lead a cost savings project aligned to business needs and develop/implement solutions with validated results.
Preferred Skills:
  • Demonstrated competency in Microsoft Applications, including Excel.
  • Experience with Python programming language.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics is an asset.
  • Research, data driven, and outside of the box thinking.
  • Strong problem research, analysis, and resolution skills.
  • Experince with Value Stream Mapping using Microsoft Visio is an asset.

Activities:
  • Work with the current operations engineering group to understand and assist in improving daily metrics.
  • Participate in daily tier meetings and engage with technicians to grow technical competencies.
  • Develop understanding of quality management and safety systems.

Physical Demands:
  • Duties of this position are performed in a normal office with exposure to manufacturing environments.
  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data
  • Repetitive manual movements are frequently required (e.g. data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc).

Area: Aerospace (This location is an ITAR compliant facility. Candidates must meet US ITAR Security Clearance requirements.)

Education: Students pursuing a degree in electrical, computer, or industrial systems engineering disciplines are preferred.

Salary

The hourly wage is determined by the years of study completed and is non-negotiable as per company policy.
Hourly Wage: $24.00-27.00 USD/hr
