Job description

Let's Grow Together!

We're looking for a hands-on leader to join our distribution team as a Small Parcel Lead at Accent Decor. In this role, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day performance of our small parcel packing and processing team - driving quality, efficiency, and accountability on the floor every day. You'll manage a team, own your department's results, and play a direct role in making sure our customers receive their orders on time and in great condition.

The hourly range for this role is $26-$29 per hour. We offer comprehensive benefits including paid volunteer leave to support you as you give back to the community.

At Accent Decor, we don't just accept difference - we celebrate it, support it, and thrive on it for the benefit of our team members, our products, and our community. We are proud to be an equal-opportunity workplace.

We'd love to hear from you if you are adaptable, innovative, and your skill set includes:

Team Leadership & People Management

  • Directly managing, coaching, and developing a team of Small Parcel Packers and Small Parcel Processors
  • Conducting regular performance evaluations and providing ongoing feedback to team members
  • Managing employee KPIs, tracking performance metrics, and implementing improvement plans when necessary
  • Validating that employees remain on task and productive throughout the shift
  • Enforcing adherence to company policies, safety guidelines, and workplace standards

Process & Quality Control

  • Ensuring all team members strictly follow Small Parcel Packing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Monitoring packing quality and accuracy to minimize errors and rework
  • Controlling and reducing shipping damages through proactive process oversight and team training
  • Validating that all orders are processed, packed, and shipped on time according to customer and business requirements

Operational Oversight

  • Correcting any shipping issues or discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Troubleshooting and resolving packing, labeling, or carrier-related problems as they arise
  • Answering inquiries from the Sales and Customer Service teams regarding order status, shipping methods, and delivery expectations
  • Collaborating with other departments to ensure smooth handoff of orders and resolution of issues

Budget & Supply Management

  • Managing and controlling the packing supply budget for the small parcel area
  • Monitoring usage of packing materials (boxes, tape, bubble, labels, etc.) and implementing cost-saving measures where possible
  • Maintaining appropriate inventory levels of packing supplies without overstocking

Performance Monitoring & Reporting

  • Tracking and reporting team and individual KPIs on a regular basis
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency in small parcel operations
  • Escalating significant performance, quality, or operational issues to management as required

Additional Expectations

  • Leading by example by maintaining a high standard of professionalism, accuracy, and efficiency
  • Promoting a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and customer focus within the team
  • Supporting training and onboarding of new team members
  • Participating in cross-functional projects or process improvement initiatives as assigned.

You'll stand out from other applicants if you can show:

2+ years of experience in a warehouse, distribution, or fulfillment environment, with at least 1 year in a lead or supervisory role
Proven ability to manage and develop a team, including coaching, performance feedback, and accountability
Strong understanding of small parcel shipping processes, packing standards, and carrier requirements
Experience tracking and reporting operational KPIs with a focus on accuracy and continuous improvement
Ability to identify and resolve packing, labeling, or shipping discrepancies quickly and effectively
Experience managing supply or materials budgets with a focus on cost control and waste reduction
Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments including Sales and Customer Service
Proficiency with warehouse management systems or shipping software preferred
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree a plus
