Job description

At Sheffield Pharmaceuticals, the home of the original Sheffield Toothpaste, we offer exclusive, quality, branded products to promote wellness and relief to our customers. Our wellness and first aid products include a variety of creams and ointments, nasal products, and toothpaste all made in the USA since 1850.
We are currently seeking a Set-Up Mechanic I for full time position in our New London, CT facility. Must have a high level of mechanical comprehension, and enjoy hands-on work in a fast-paced, constantly changing work environment. 1st (7:00 - 3:30) and 2nd (3:00 - 11:30) shift positions available.
Job Description:
  • Responsible for the changeover, startup and troubleshooting of automated/semi-automated production lines.
  • Support department in reaching Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Inventory objectives
  • Monitor output of machinery to ensure that it is achieving quality and efficiency standards
  • Complete necessary cGMP record keeping
  • Utilize root cause and countermeasure troubleshooting tools to identify and solve mechanical problems

Required Skills:
  • At least 1 year of work experience in machine set-up and operation of production equipment preferred but will train those with proven mechanical aptitude such as experience with small engine repair (ie: auto mechanic) or trade school graduates.
  • Strong computer skills (Outlook, Excel)
  • High Mechanical Comprehension
