Job description

Primary Purpose:

Maintains/repairs power equipment such as portable saws, mowers, weed eaters, custodial vacuum cleaners (hand-held and backpack). Leads and assists ground crews that maintain district property/landscaping.
Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

  • High school graduate or GED equivalent
  • Valid Texas driver's license, insurable with Hutto ISD insurance carrier, and a good driving record

Special Knowledge/Skills:

  • Knowledge of machines and tools - including their designs, uses, repairs and maintenance
  • Knowledge/Ability of operating z-trac mowers, weed trimmers, blowers, power tools, hand tools, gasoline backpack blowers, etc
  • Ability to trim shrubs/trees, rake and mulch
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Ability to read and understand written instructions
  • Ability to communicate (verbally)

Experience:

  • 1-3 years' experience in small engine mechanics, grounds keeping and landscape maintenance
