Lawnmower/Small Engine Maintenance Tech
Automation Personnel Services is looking for a Small Engine Technician and Lawn Mower Specialist for a company based in Columbia, TN. In this role, you will have the opportunity to build your technical career while supporting a productive service team dedicated to keeping outdoor power equipment operating safely, reliably, and efficiently. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented technician who enjoys hands-on mechanical work, problem-solving, and delivering excellent customer service.

Small Engine Technician and Lawn Mower Specialist Duties and Responsibilities
• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues on small engines, including carburetor problems, electrical faults, and mechanical failures, using schematics and diagnostic tools.
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, blade sharpening, spark plug replacements, and fuel system servicing.
• Repair and rebuild lawn mowers, snow blowers, generators, trimmers, chainsaws, and other outdoor power equipment with precision and efficiency.
• Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and electrical diagnostic equipment to complete repairs accurately.
• Conduct wiring repairs, electrical diagnostics, and engine component testing to ensure optimal equipment performance.
• Follow all safety procedures during the handling of equipment and parts while maintaining a clean and organized work area.
• Communicate clearly with customers regarding repair needs, estimated timelines, and maintenance recommendations.
• Support the overall success of the service department by completing work in a timely manner and maintaining high-quality standards.
Small Engine Technician and Lawn Mower Specialist Qualifications and Requirements
• Proven experience as a dealership technician or service technician working with small engines or outdoor power equipment.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in engine repair, troubleshooting, and mechanical systems maintenance.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, electrical wiring diagrams, and engine component layouts.
• Experience with diesel engine repair or automotive repair is a plus, but not required.
• Ability to safely perform heavy lifting and other physical tasks associated with equipment maintenance and repair.
• Knowledge of power generation systems or heavy machinery, including Caterpillar equipment, is advantageous.
