We are looking for experienced and reliable First and Second Shift Diesel Mechanics to join our Rochester, NY team. You'll perform a wide variety of maintenance duties to help keep our customers' trucks on the road.
Option to work 4 ten hour shifts!

How you will make an impact:
  • Performs and assists in the performance of general mechanical duties.
  • Diagnose transmission or clutch failures, differential failures; repair or replace as needed.
  • Works on major components with close supervision; performs troubleshooting on minor problems such as basic check engine lights and symptoms on MX and Cummins products using EDS and Diagnostic Assistant.
  • Basic wiring troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Performs diagnostics on HVAC systems, replace parts as needed.
  • Able to remove and replace external engine components such as exhaust manifolds, EGR coolers & valves.
  • Able to replace fuel injectors and perform overhead valve and injector adjustments & tune-up.
  • Proficient with welding, torch cutting and fabrication.
  • Works on major components with close supervision; performs troubleshooting on minor problems.
  • Attends training sessions and meetings.
  • Maintains a neat and orderly working area, and proper handling of company tools.
  • Advises the Shop Foreman if additional repair work is necessary.
  • Follows safe work practices and procedures, uses safety equipment when required, responds to suggestions for working safely and seeks assistance when necessary.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements
  • Minimum 1-2 years hands-on experience and on-the-job training in a related mechanical field; graduate of vocational courses or equivalent experience and training
  • Experience in truck dealership preferred but not required.
  • A/C and Brake experience
  • CAT Engine experience preferred but not required.
  • MX Engine experience preferred.
  • Cummins Engine experience preferred.
  • Electrical experience
  • Necessary tools to perform position responsibilities.
  • Proficient in speaking and reading English.
  • CDL preferred, but not required.
