Position: Small Dog PlayCare Attendant

About the Role: As a Small Dog PlayCare Attendant, you'll create a safe, fun, and stimulating environment for our small canine clients. You'll follow positive reinforcement training methods and plans to ensure consistency and build trust with the dogs in your care. From supervising playgroups to ensuring their well-being, you'll play a vital role in their happiness and health.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise Playgroups: Oversee small dog playgroups, ensuring a safe and positive social environment.
  • Follow Training Plans: Implement positive reinforcement training methods and follow behavior plans designed by Top Dog SF trainers.
  • Basic Care: Feed, walk, clean up after dogs, and administer medications as needed.
  • Cleanliness: Maintain high hygiene standards by sanitizing play areas, crates, floors, and common spaces.
  • Health Monitoring: Observe dogs for any changes in behavior or health and report concerns to management.
  • Engagement: Facilitate play and enrichment activities to stimulate dogs physically and mentally.
  • Customer Service: Communicate with pet parents, providing updates and addressing inquiries. Handle check-ins and check-outs using our software (training provided).

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience: Prior dog care experience preferred, but not required – we'll train you!
  • Passion: A genuine love for dogs and commitment to their well-being.
  • Understanding of Positive Reinforcement: Familiarity with or willingness to learn modern, science-based training techniques.
  • Physical Fitness: Ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to handle unexpected situations calmly and effectively.
  • Reliability: Consistent attendance and punctuality are a must.
  • Teamwork: Patience, empathy, and adaptability, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Hours & Availability:

  • Part-Time: At least 3 days/week Monday through Sunday.
  • Full-Time: Availability for 4-5 days/week preferred.
