Chipton-Ross is seeking multiple CL ELECTRICIAN (A) for an opportunity in Pascagoula, MS.
Per Diem is available for those that live over 75 miles with a valid utility bill. Per diem is $147 days worked.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE)
  • Minimum 4 Yrs. experience in the marine electrical field.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Read and interpret marine drawings and/or blueprints utilizing both metric and standard measurements.
  • Looking for system testing and specialties like fiber optic connections, topology, and SLQ-32

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
An Ingalls First-Class Electrician also called an Electrical Journeyman, is responsible for the layout, installation and repair of shipboard cables, lighting, and electronic equipment, as well as the ships power. Electricians utilize an assortment of hand and power tools, a variety of test equipment along with a working knowledge of blue prints, drawings and schematics. Ingalls shipyard production areas at times involve working at different heights, confined spaces, different weather conditions as well as multiple shifts 24 hours a day. As with most every position in the shipyard, an Electrician may be required to work either day or night dependent upon the number of ships under construction at any one point in time. Ingalls stresses the practice of working safely in all situations with safety procedures meeting, and most times, exceeding industry standards.
  • A skill assessment will be a written and hands on test.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE)
  • One (1) year shipboard experience (sonar, radar, power, internal communication, navigation, etc.).

REQUIRED EDUCATION
Accredited High School diploma or equivalent.
WORK HOURS
5/40, workweek.
1st, 2nd, 3rd shift.

  • Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
