Description

American Traveler is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) for a 13-week acute care assignment working primarily with a pediatric outpatient population on a Monday–Friday day schedule with no weekends or holidays.

Details
  • Acute care hospital setting with primary focus on outpatient speech-language pathology services
  • Occasional inpatient coverage may be required in addition to outpatient duties
  • Primarily pediatric patient population with diagnoses including language/speech delay, autism, Down syndrome, and articulation/phonological disorders
  • Daily patient caseload varies
  • Day shift schedule, Monday–Friday, typically 8:00am–5:00pm or as patients are scheduled
  • 8-hour shifts with no weekend or holiday requirements
  • Epic EMR used in this position

Requirements
  • Master's degree (MA or MS) in Speech-Language Pathology required
  • Active Nebraska SLP license or valid temporary Nebraska SLP license required; license required if applicable
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as an SLPA or SLP required
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Medication Aide certification preferred
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with interdisciplinary rehabilitation team members and support staff

  • Works within a rehabilitation department under a Physical Therapist as Department Director, with one additional SLP on duty
  • Rehab aides are available to support the department
  • Department-specific orientation details will be discussed during the interview process
