Job Opportunity
Position Overview
We are seeking a qualified professional to provide assessment, treatment, care, and evaluation for patients with cognitive, speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders. The ideal candidate will establish trust and cooperation among patients, families, support groups, and other healthcare providers through effective communication and attentive care.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive assessments and evaluations for patients experiencing cognitive and speech-related disorders.
  • Deliver treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs, focusing on improving communication and swallowing abilities.
  • Adhere to local, state, and federal regulations, policies, and procedures to safeguard patient privacy and safety during care delivery.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
  • Assist with the clinical supervision of assistants and aides, and act as a clinical instructor for assigned students.
Qualifications
  • Required Certifications: BLS, SLP
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a relevant clinical setting.
  • Experience with acute care and familiarity with electronic charting systems, particularly Epic.
  • Preferred experience in community hospitals and with relevant patient populations, including adults and geriatrics.
  • Ability to evaluate and treat patients with various medical conditions, including cerebrovascular accidents (CVA), traumatic brain injuries (TBI), and degenerative diseases.
Skills and Competencies
  • Proficient in performing bedside swallow evaluations and modifying diet orders as necessary.
  • Strong assessment and documentation skills.
  • Adept at using communication boards and compensatory strategies.
  • Knowledge of Medicare guidelines and documentation requirements.
  • Capable of providing therapy during critical time frames and recognizing signs of physical, sexual, and psychological abuse.

Working Conditions
This position typically follows a day shift schedule, with hours from 08:30 AM to 05:00 PM, and requires adherence to an established patient care schedule. Orientation and training will be provided for successful candidates.
