Job description

Responsibilities:

  • Will operate various floor machinery such as: Speed Scrubber, Floor Buffer, Carpet Extractors
  • Prepare and wax tile floors
  • Operate and maintain floor machinery
  • Enhances the guest experience by providing exceptional service.
  • Cleans floors (vacuum, mop, shampoo); spot cleaning as necessary
  • Monitors ash/trash containers, cleaning and removing trash as necessary
  • Cleans ashtrays
  • Cleans glass surfaces
  • Cleans restrooms
  • Cleans slot bases/machines; pushes in slot chairs
  • Greets 7 interacts with guests when appropriate
  • Uses cleaning chemicals as instructed
  • Uses safety equipment as required
  • Communicates all maintenance issues to supervisor.
  • Executes daily cleaning projects.
  • Collects/secures lost-and-found articles.
  • Restocks storage closets daily.
  • Trains new employees as needed.
  • Establishes and maintains close working relationships with all Dover Downs employees to ensure maximum cooperation, productivity, morale and guest service.
  • Adheres to department and property policies and procedures.
  • Represents Dover Downs Hotel and Casino in the most positive manner with guests, co-workers, managers, and vendors.
  • Control inventory of supplies.
  • Maintains knowledge of the property.
  • Makes suggestions for improvements in overall operations with emphasis on increasing guest satisfaction, as well as reducing costs.
  • Works safely, following all established safety rules and regulations.
  • Communicates effectively with co-workers, supervisors and guests.
  • Follows all relevant policies and procedures. 
  • Complies with the company’s recycling program standards.
  • Provides exceptional customer service
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
