Job Description

The Machine Operator Assistant supports slitting machine operations in a clean, climate-controlled production environment. This role focuses on setting up and operating slitter machinery, handling raw plastic materials, performing quality inspections, and accurately recording production data to ensure safe, efficient, and consistent output.

Responsibilities

  • Set up slitter machinery and make precise adjustments to the cutting width according to production specifications.
  • Load rolls of raw plastic material into industrial machinery using a stand-up forklift in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Assist with machine start-up, shutdown, product changeovers, and material changes to maintain smooth production flow.
  • Perform quality inspections using measurement instruments and visual checks to verify product meets required standards.
  • Record production data, quality results, and downtime information accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area to support safety and operational efficiency.
  • Handle rolls and materials carefully to prevent damage and ensure proper alignment during processing.
  • Follow production and safety procedures, including proper use of equipment such as forklifts and overhead cranes.
  • Read and interpret basic blueprints or work instructions to set up and monitor machine operations.
  • Collaborate with machine operators and production team members to resolve minor mechanical issues and support continuous improvement.

    • Currently working 12's temporarily based on demand
  • Weekend: 7AM to 7PM (Friday through Sunday) // $18.50 +$2.00/hr shift premium
    • Work 36 hours and paid for 40 hours
