What is a slickline?

A Slickline job involves using a single-strand wire to perform well maintenance, logging, and intervention tasks in oil and gas wells. Slickline operators run tools into the wellbore to gather data, retrieve or install downhole equipment, and clear obstructions. This work helps maintain well efficiency and production. Operators must understand well conditions, pressure control, and tool deployment to ensure safe and effective operations.
