Join Novant Health Sleep Medicine - Ballantyne as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) and help provide compassionate, personalized care to patients. You'll work alongside a collaborative clinical team while building meaningful relationships with patients and supporting them throughout their care journey.
This role is ideal for candidates with previous experience working with sleep medicine patients or in a medical office setting, though motivated new graduates are encouraged to apply!

What You'll Do
Job responsibilities include:
  • Patient Rooming: Efficiently prepare exam rooms and escort patients for timely appointments.
  • Inbox Management: Manage electronic in-baskets, including sending messages to providers and patients, processing prescription refills, and responding promptly to inquiries.
  • Prior Authorizations: Complete and submit prior authorization requests accurately and within required timeframes.
  • Order Reviews: Verify and process provider orders to maintain accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborative Support: Work closely with clinical staff to ensure smooth operations and deliver exceptional patient care in a high-volume, fast-moving environment.

What We're Looking For
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.
    • Candidates will provide proof of current certification from one of the approved certifying registries including: • CMA with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) • CCMA with the National Health Career Association (NHA) • RMA with the American Medical Technologists (AMT) • American Registry of Medical Assistants (NHCWA) • National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) • National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) • American Allied Health (AAH) RMA with the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA). If a candidate is not currently certified, they must obtain certification or registration by the end of the sixth month of their hire and sign an education agreement.
  • Experience: Previous work in a medical office, preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification: Current certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire as CMA, RMA or CCMA, required. Current State Drivers License (Palliative Care Only), required.
  • Additional skills required: Ability to successfully complete generic and department specific skills validation and competency testing.
