Job description

Job Overview

We are looking for a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist(RPT) to be based out of our Riverside Sleep Clinic in Minneapolis, MN!  This is a multidisciplinary clinic covering all aspects of sleep; Obstructive Sleep Apnea, insomnia, narcolepsy, and more.

This position has been approved for 0.01 FTE and will serve as a casual position covering the Minneapolis, Brooklyn Park, and Southdale clinic locations.

Perform comprehensive polysomnographic testing and analysis and valuate overnight polysomnograms. Operates medical equipment to record sleep/wake physiology. Applies recording devices, cleans/sterilizes equipment, and monitors polysomnogram. Evaluates care and patients' response to intervention.
Responsibilities

  • Collects, analyzes, and integrates patient information to identify and meet the patient’s specific needs (Physical/mental limitations, current emotional/physiological status regarding the testing procedure, pertinent medical/social history), and to determine final testing parameters/procedures in conjunction with the ordering physician or clinical director and laboratory.
  • Performs routine and complex equipment care and maintenance.
  • Prepares and calibrates equipment required for testing to determine proper functioning and adjust if necessary.
  • Explain pre-testing, testing, and post-testing procedures to the patient
  • Evaluates sleep study related equipment and inventory.
  • Performs Polysomnographic Record Scoring.
  • Performs advanced Polysomnography procedures.
  • Working knowledge of information technology required to support diagnostic and clinical documentation.
  • Strong computer skills required


Required Qualifications

  • Associate of Science in health sciences field or actively enrolled in Polysomnography training program with completion
  • 1 year experience working in a healthcare environment
  • Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc, Red Cross or MTN)
  • RPSGT or must successfully complete board registry within 1 Year

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science or
  • Associate of Science in health sciences field, with emphasis on Polysomnography
  • 2 years direct patient care experience in a Sleep Center
  • RT, RPSGT or REEGT
