Job description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Slab Installer to join our team for residential installation projects. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience, with a strong understanding of materials, methods, and tools for these installations. This position requires a detail-oriented, professional, and physically capable individual to perform high-quality installations for residential properties.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Surface Preparation & Installation: Measure, mark, clean, level, and prepare surfaces for stone or tile installation.
  • Materials Handling: Mix and apply thin set, mortar, adhesive, grout, and other materials as required for the installation process.
  • Cutting & Shaping: Cut and shape tiles or stones to specified sizes using power saws or cutters.
  • Grouting & Sealing: Apply grouting, caulk, sealants, and other agents to finished surfaces and joints.
  • Project Coordination: Communicate regularly with the Superintendent for work order clarifications and scheduling updates.
  • Transport & Setup: Transport materials, tools, and equipment to the installation site. Erect scaffolding and other necessary installation structures.
  • Safety & Compliance: Follow company policies, OSHA regulations, and safety guidelines during all aspects of work.
  • Professional Conduct: Work professionally with team members, customers, contractors, and management. Attend training sessions and meetings as required.
  • Other Duties: Perform additional tasks as directed by senior management.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in slab installation.
  • Proficiency in laying out work, repairing and patching tiles, preparing sub-surfaces, sealing, waterproofing, caulking, and grouting.
  • Strong knowledge of tools and materials used in stone, tile, and granite installation.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and perform math calculations.
  • Ability to follow both oral and written instructions accurately.
  • Strong communication skills for working with clients and coworkers.
  • Physically fit and able to perform tasks involving climbing, lifting, carrying, kneeling, and balancing, with the ability to lift up to 45 lbs.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
