Position Description:
Charter Screener
Huntleigh USA Corporation provides general and aviation security solutions and services to commercial and private companies. The company offers general security services, such as background checks, event security planning, retail loss prevention, risk analyses, security concept development, security guards/officer services, security surveys and audits, and security system design. It also provides security consultant services; and aviation and other related services, such as access control, aircraft guarding and cleaning, aircraft search, airline crew transportation, baggage security, charter flight screening, janitorial services, passenger screening, pre-board screening, skycap, and wheelchair services
SUMMARY
Charter screener positions encompass providing security and protection of air travelers.
Responsible for identifying dangerous objects in baggage, on passengers and preventing those objects from being transported onto aircraft.
This position reports directly to the General Manager.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Screening travelers in conjunction with Transportation Security Administration (TSA).
  • Gathering intelligence and searching for weapons, drugs, and other contraband that risk safe travel.
  • Identifying and ceasing emerging transportation security threats by utilizing variety of techniques and equipment to search travelers and luggage.
  • Educating travelers about TSA regulations while providing customer service to travelers.
  • Assisting in the efficient flow of passengers through screening checkpoints.
  • Maintaining communication at all times with supervisors regarding vulnerable areas of security.
  • Controlling passenger entry into security checkpoints.
  • Reviewing passenger manifests against watch lists.
  • On -call position (hours will very and are on demand with no guarantee of a certain number of hours per week).
  • Aircraft searches, passenger screening, baggage screening, and/or all.
  • Working in a fast paced environment with time constraints and maintaining focus on a stressful environment that contains distractions, people, and noise.
  • A professional and positive image must be consistently displayed by the employee.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must have a reliable telephone number for contact.
  • Must have the ability to read, write, speak, and follow verbal and written instructions in English.
  • Must be able to pass a Department of Transportation drug and alcohol test as required and submit to random testing requirements.
  • Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time and lift, squat, stoop, push, and bend throughout the course of a shift.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, and/or hold 50 pounds or more.
  • Maintain a neat, well groomed, professional image and appearance at all times.
  • Meet uniform standards as required.
  • No facial piercings, No tattoos below the wrist or above the neck.
  • Must complete any applicable Huntleigh and airline specific training as required.
  • Must have a Cell Phone and E-Mail account.
  • Overtime may be required without notice.
  • Work environment is indoor/outdoor.
