Overview

General Manager - Airline Catering Operations at LSG Sky Chefs. Location: Jamaica, NY (Jamaica-USA-11430). On-Site. Salary Range: $160,000.00 - $170,000.00.

Role Purpose

We are looking for a bold and visionary leader to lead our Operations in Jamaica, NY servicing our key clients at JFK International Airport. As General Manager for the Jamaica, New York location, you will own the full scope of a high-volume Customer Service Center, leading over 750 employees, managing a multimillion-dollar P&L, and driving excellence across Procurement, Production, Logistics, HR, Finance, Quality, and Customer Service.

This is more than an operational leadership role; it’s an opportunity to transform how we deliver value to our airline partners, elevate team culture, and shape the future of large-scale catering operations at one of the busiest aviation hubs in the world.

Main Accountabilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Set and lead the strategic direction of the CSC, aligning with corporate priorities and market benchmarks to ensure growth, profitability, and long-term competitive advantage.
  • Build and strengthen executive-level customer relationships, creating customized solutions and driving long-term partnerships.
  • Oversee facility expansion, major capital investments, and infrastructure planning to ensure future-ready operations.
  • Champion digital transformation initiatives, leveraging technology to improve efficiency, strengthen data-driven decision-making, and enhance the customer experience.
  • Champion innovation and operational transformation by driving efficiency, quality, and advanced technology adoption.
  • Own the financial and operational performance of a large-scale facility, setting KPIs, identifying performance gaps, and implementing action plans.
  • Optimize resources and investments through workforce planning, cost management, and vendor negotiations to maximize ROI.
  • Ensure compliance with global food safety and quality standards (GQS, HACCP) and lead proactive safety and risk management initiatives.
  • Manage complex labor environments with a balanced, strategic approach to union relations and negotiations.

People & Culture

  • Lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing leadership team, ensuring succession planning and long-term organizational capability.
  • Drive employee engagement through transparent communication, regular feedback, and action-oriented engagement initiatives.
  • Support leadership development across the region by identifying high-potential talent and preparing them for expanded roles.
  • Promote a culture of compliance, accountability, and operational excellence across all teams.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Hospitality Management, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum 10 years of senior management and operations leadership experience, ideally within large-scale, complex production or service environments.
  • Hands-on experience managing food costs across the supply chain, from procurement through production.
  • Proven experience leading digitalization projects, such as implementing new systems, automation tools, or data-driven solutions to improve operational performance and customer experience.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading operations at scale, preferably in multi-site or highly complex single-site environments
