What is a skin care ambassador?

A Skin Care Ambassador is a professional who represents a skincare brand or product line, educating customers about the products and promoting their benefits. They often work at events, in stores, or online to demonstrate products, provide samples, and answer questions. Their goal is to build brand awareness, increase sales, and help customers choose products that suit their skin type and concerns. Skin Care Ambassadors may also provide basic skincare advice, but are not licensed to offer medical treatments. They play a key role in connecting brands with consumers and ensuring a positive experience.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a skin care ambassador?

To thrive as a Skin Care Ambassador, you need a solid understanding of skin care products, skin types, and active ingredients, often supported by formal training or a relevant certification in aesthetics. Familiarity with point-of-sale systems, client management software, and current skin care brands is typically required. Outstanding interpersonal skills, active listening, and persuasive communication help build trust and create a positive customer experience. These skills are crucial for effectively educating clients, driving product sales, and fostering brand loyalty in a competitive industry.

What are some common challenges faced by skin care ambassadors when educating customers about products?

Skin Care Ambassadors often encounter challenges such as addressing customers' diverse skin concerns, debunking common skincare myths, and tailoring recommendations to individual needs. It can be difficult to keep up with rapidly changing product lines and ingredient trends, requiring continuous learning and training. Additionally, ambassadors must balance sales goals with providing honest, personalized advice, all while building trust and rapport in a sometimes crowded retail environment.

Job description

Hilda Demirjian Global Laser & Skin Care Centers has been in business since 1996 in the Greater New York metropolitan area and beyond. Hilda Demirjian Skin Care Line was formulated by biochemists in 2002 and tested by Hilda Demirjian herself for several years before launch. The products are anti-aging, antioxidant, treatment-oriented, botanically derived, unisex, and cruelty-free. Furthermore, they are highly recommended by plastic surgeons and dermatologists nationwide.

Due to increased demand, we are hiring more professionals to represent and distribute our brand to physicians (especially dermatologists and plastic surgeons), medical spas, aesthetics practices, and boutique wellness centers.

Position Overview

As a  B2B Skin Care Representative, you will act as a trusted brand ambassador and clinical sales representative. You will directly engage physicians, practice managers, estheticians, and business owners to introduce, demonstrate, and integrate Hilda Demirjian's high-quality product lines into their practices.

This role requires a sophisticated consultative selling style, excellent clinical product knowledge, and the professional authority needed to build credibility with medical and business leadership. Qualified individuals will receive their training from Hilda Demirjian.

Key Responsibilities

  • Executive & Clinical Outreach: Initiate and cultivate relationships with doctors, medical directors, medspa owners, and aesthetic practice leaders.
  • Product Education & In-Service Training: Deliver professional product demonstrations and staff training to ensure client teams understand product efficacy, usage protocol, and retail benefit.
  • Account Management & Growth: Manage the complete sales cycle—from introductory meeting and order placement to ongoing follow-up—ensuring high client retention and recurring wholesale orders.

Required Qualifications

  • Industry Experience: Minimum 4+ years of proven success in aesthetic skin care consulting, medical device sales, or pharmaceutical/cosmeceutical B2B sales.
  • Executive Communication: Exceptional consultative sales, presentation, and negotiation skills with a demonstrated ability to comfortably engage physicians and business executives.
  • Product Knowledge: Deep understanding of skin physiology, professional skin care protocols, and current aesthetic industry trends.
  • Self-Directed: High degree of autonomy, discipline, and organization needed to manage a flexible 25-hour weekly schedule and regional travel efficiently.
  • Education: High School Diploma required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or Communications (or an active Esthetics/Medical license) preferred.

Preferred Attributes

  • Regional Mobility: Willingness to travel regionally for client meetings, site visits, and product demonstrations.
  • Bilingual Advantage: Proficiency in Spanish is a strong plus.
  • Career Growth Orientation: Ambition to expand territory reach and step into senior consulting or sales leadership roles as wholesale volume expands.

Engagement & Compensation Details

  • Classification: Independent Contractor (1099) — set your own schedule while managing your tax obligations.
  • Schedule: Approximately 25 hours per week (Part-time/Flexible).
  • Earning Potential: Base pay of $20–$25/hour plus an uncapped 10% commission on all closed wholesale accounts and repeat orders.
