Healing Escape Psychotherapy Services, based in Atlanta, Georgia, is seeking a dedicated and licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our compassionate team. This full-time position offers the opportunity to support clients remotely while delivering therapeutic interventions tailored to individual needs. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct Preliminary Assessments: Perform comprehensive evaluations, including preliminary interviews and questionnaires, to gather essential information about clients’ mental, behavioral, and emotional health.
  • Develop Personalized Treatment Plans: Collaborate with clients to create tailored intervention plans that outline therapeutic goals and strategies for recovery, addressing the unique needs of individuals, couples, and families.
  • Facilitate Therapy Sessions: Conduct both individual and group therapy sessions using evidence-based practices to engage clients in their healing process, fostering supportive discussions that promote growth.
  • Monitor Client Progress: Regularly assess treatment outcomes and adjust plans as necessary to ensure clients are making progress toward their goals and managing any challenges that arise.
  • Collaboration with Healthcare Professionals: Work in tandem with other mental health specialists, doctors, and social workers, sharing insights and progress through effective communication to enhance client care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Qualifications
  • Education: A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Licensure: A current and valid license as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in the state of Georgia.
  • Exam Scores: Achievement of passing scores on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage with clients and collaborate with colleagues.
Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience working as a mental health counselor in outpatient settings.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems, particularly AVATAR.
  • Experience working with clients facing co-occurring disorders and those requiring intervention for addiction issues.
  • Knowledge of the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices is advantageous.
  • In-depth understanding of psychopharmacology and the potential effects of medications prescribed by healthcare practitioners.
