The DeKalb County School District is seeking an experienced and professional Skilled Trade Supervisor III, Custodial.

Title: Supervisor III, Skilled Trade Custodial
Advise building administrators and trades staff on maintenance needs, manage daily custodial operations to ensure clean and safe environments, and provide training and guidance to custodial teams. Provide leadership and guidance to a team, ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures.
Essential Functions:
• Supervise and direct custodial and trade staff, ensuring adherence to cleanliness, maintenance standards, and safety protocols.
• Organize programs and processes, establish tasks for the team, and set priorities.
• Work on issues requiring the analysis of data and a variety of relevant factors to resolve.
• Identify and resolve operational issues that may fall outside of established guidelines as they arise; recommend process improvements where needed based on sound project workflow principles.
• Inspect schools, buildings, and grounds to ensure operational effectiveness and address safety, cleanliness, or maintenance issues.
• Coordinate with administrators to discuss facility needs and concerns; assist with problem resolution related to staff and building maintenance.
• Manage training for custodial staff on cleaning procedures; analyze data to identify operational issues requiring resolution outside established guidelines.
• Work with vendors and contractors for services coordination; oversee repairs to equipment at school sites as necessary.
• Communicate effectively regarding the status of service requests; maintain records concerning operations performance.
• Approve inventory of custodial supplies, materials, and equipment necessary for proper facility maintenance; manage supply availability.
• Assist the Plant Engineers in developing schedules for workloads and assignments.
• Interact with subordinates, supervisors, and functional peer groups to resolve issues and interpret and explain information as necessary..
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from a Professional Standards Commission approved accredited college or university preferred.
• Minimum three (3) years supervisory-level work experience in engineering, architecture, facilities management, or closely related experience required.
