Job Description: The Activities Coordinator Reports to the General Manager.This position requires a dynamic, energetic, "adrenaline junkie" to excel as an Activities Coordinator. GENERAL SUMMARYThe Activities Coordinator creates, plans and leads outdoor activities and events at the resort.The Activities Coordinator performs a variety of tasks that require physical, interpersonal and customer service skills necessary for working with guests, managers and co-workers on the property. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES Duties include, but are not limited to: Plans and develops all outdoor activities at the resort.Works with management on budget development, promotion and scheduling events and activities.Schedules and leads land activities such as hiking, horseback riding, photography hikes, skiing, snowshoeing and other day time activities.Schedules and leads water activities such as fishing, fly fishing, tubing, kayaking and canoeing.Schedules, leads and/or assists with educational events and/or campfire events and activities.Creates a schedule of events and activities that generates excitement, enthusiasm and participation from Resort Guests.Executes events and activities with unstoppable energy to ensure the guests' experiences are positive and enjoyable. As with all department team members, the Activities Coordinator keeps a close eye on the budget of his/her assigned areas of responsibility and makes certain that approved, scheduled events and activities stay within budget. JOB REQUIREMENTS Requirements and Related Skills: Ability to read and speak English. Fluent in a second language is a bonus.Must possess a valid Driver's License with a satisfactory DMV record and maintain an active auto insurance policy. Knowledge of geographic area, including, but not limited to rivers, streams, lakes, hiking areas, ski hills and local outdoor recreation opportunities.Knowledge of outdoor safety to include land and water activities. Working knowledge of equipment, materials, and supplies used in outdoor activities and events.Must be able to plan, develop and organize activities and events with emphasis on attention to detail, exceeding the guests' expectations and following the given budget.Must be able to work flexible shifts of mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team. Working knowledge of first aid and applicable safety precautions. CPR Certified or ability to be certified prior to start date.Demonstrate good personal control and judgment under normal and stressful conditions. Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs using proper lifting and bending techniques.Prefer someone who has applicable certifications in the outdoor recreation industry (lifeguard, water safety, ski instructor, etc.)Possesses or ability to possess any applicable licenses (fishing, hunting, boating, etc.).
