Regular equipment maintenance, adherence to safety protocols, and ongoing training help address these challenges and improve efficiency in daily operations.

What is a skidder and what does it do?

A skidder is a type of heavy forestry equipment used primarily to pull cut trees out of a forest in a process known as 'skidding'. Skidders are commonly used in logging operations to transport logs from the cutting site to a landing area where they can be processed and loaded for transport. They are designed to handle rough terrain and are equipped with powerful engines and specialized attachments, such as grapples or winches, to drag logs efficiently. Skidders play a crucial role in modern timber harvesting, helping to increase productivity and reduce manual labor.
