SEEKING HELP SPECIFICALLY FOR HOLIDAYS AND SPRING BREAK!
This role has a minimum of 19 days for the season
Shifts are in the mornings for 3-4 hours
MUST HAVE HOLIDAY AND WEEKEND AVAILABILITY
**Please note: There is no employee housing available for this position**
Summary: Provide an unmatched group or private lesson experience for each Nursery Ski Cub guest.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following and other duties as assigned.
  • Explains and demonstrates principles, techniques, and methods of regulating movement of body, hands, or feet to achieve proficiency in activity.
  • Observes students (ages 2.5-4 years) during practice to detect and correct mistakes.
  • Explains and enforces safety rules and regulations.
  • Responsible for understanding scheduling resources and check schedule on a bi-weekly basis.
  • Managing personal schedule with supervisor or manager.
  • Provides a guest experience that exceeds the guest's expectations.
  • Explains and demonstrates use of apparatus and equipment.
  • Supports Telluride Ski & Golf sustainability initiatives.
  • Adheres to Telluride Ski & Golf policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of and adheres to Skier Responsibility Code and Colorado Skier Safety Act.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty to the highest standards. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education and/or Experience:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Must have baby-sitting or other childcare experience.
  • Infant and Child CPR and First Aid.

Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense and understanding, to carry out written or oral instructions, and to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Other Skills and Abilities:
  • Must be an intermediate or better skier, comfortable on intermediate slopes.
  • Able to gain PSIA Level 1 Certification.
  • Basic Knowledge and understanding of child development and abilities from birth to five years.
  • High physical and mental energy level.
  • Quick reflexes and responses.
  • Patience.
  • Positive attitude.
  • Able to work weekends, holidays and overtime.
  • Must be able to function effectively at elevations of 10,000 feet or higher.
  • Must be able to function effectively in inclement weather conditions.
