About the Role
As an In-House Team Lead, you will serve as the shift manager for our on-site ski rental and valet operation within the Waldorf Astoria Park City. You will lead the front-line team, set clear priorities and expectations, assign team members to stations based on guest demand, maintain equipment readiness and safety standards, and step in wherever needed to deliver a seamless guest experience.
Because Ski Butlers operates within partner hotels, you will also work closely with hotel staff, respond to guest escalations, support service recovery, and ensure smooth communication and handoffs between shifts. No two shifts are the same, so success in this role requires adaptability, sound judgment, clear communication, consistent accountability, and the ability to remain calm under pressure while leading by example.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Open and close the ski rental and valet operation each day, ensuring all guest-facing areas and back of house workspaces are organized, cleaned, and ready for service.

  • Lead pre- and post-shift team meetings, clearly communicating priorities, individual assignments, and expected outcomes.

  • Serve as the shift manager and coordinate the flow of rental fittings, ski valet services, equipment staging and retrieval, guest boot assistance, swaps, and returns.

  • Assign and reposition team members based on real-time guest demand, hotel activity, and operational priorities while supporting efficient labor usage.

  • Work closely with hotel departments-including concierge, bell, front drive, and transportation-to coordinate guest requests and provide a seamless experience.

  • Respond promptly to guest requests received in person or through phone calls, text messages, emails, radios, and hotel team members.

  • Resolve guest concerns and service issues, escalating situations to the appropriate manager when additional authority or support is required.

  • Ensure Ski Butlers and hotel standards are maintained throughout the shift, including uniforms and appearance, equipment condition, shop and valet cleanliness, organization, and professional conduct.

  • Complete thorough shift handoffs documenting unresolved guest concerns, missing or damaged equipment, upcoming requests, staffing needs, and other relevant operational information.

Secondary Responsibilities
  • Assist guests with ski and snowboard rentals, including selecting, fitting, adjusting, and exchanging equipment according to Ski Butlers' training and safety procedures.

  • Anticipate guests' needs before and after their time on the mountain, including helping them put on and remove ski boots.

  • Support ski valet operations by staging, retrieving, storing, and organizing guest equipment during peak periods.

  • Take reservations and process payments, adjustments, or refunds within the Team Lead's approved level of authority.

  • Assist with basic equipment maintenance, inventory organization, amenity restocking, snow removal, and general operational readiness as needed.
