Job Description

Our PM Engineer / Maintenance Supervisor role will allow you to lead and train engineer/maintenance team members in all technical and non-technical areas. This individual will be comfortable leading various projects from start to finish as well as focused on maintaining a safe and productive work environment.

  • Lead and supervise the engineering and maintenance team, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all hotel systems and equipment
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair all hotel systems including all H.V.A.C&R systems, laundry equipment, kitchen equipment, water and wastewater systems, carpentry, tile, plumbing, painting and minor automotive repairs
  • Assume responsibilities of the Director of Engineering and Engineer Manager in their absence
  • Maintain complete knowledge of hotel fire system, water system and sewage system.
  • Respond to all Guest Requests within a very timely manner
  • Respond to all emergency or life threatening situations
  • Follow established safety procedures and ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations
  • Log and communicate all essential information in Engineering logs
  • Manage inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment, ensuring optimal stock levels
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and maintenance projects
  • Participate in budget planning and cost control for the engineering department
  • Implement energy-saving initiatives and sustainable practices in hotel operations
  • Conduct regular inspections of hotel facilities to identify and address potential issues
  • Duties include emergency on call status
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3-4 year experience as an Engineer / Maintenance Technician, preferably within a hotel or property management environment 
  • High school diploma or equivalent, Technical school desired
  • Must be able to operate all Hotel systems and associated equipment
  • Need to be familiar with associated vendors and able to identify replacement parts, materials, and necessary tools
  • Ability to take action and make decisions whenever necessary as directed by the Director of Engineering or Engineer Manager.
  • Ability to read and follow technical instructions on assembly of mechanical equipment and furniture as well as follow directions on warning labels
  • Ability to communicate in English with guests, co-workers, and management
  • Valid driver’s license and clean motor vehicle record
