The Senior Vice President works with a wide range of clients, including corporate, philanthropic, nonprofit and issue advocacy, and supports the work of the firm to create deliverables that are creative, strong, and helps meet clients' goals. 


A Senior Vice President’s job responsibilities include:   

  • Fully managing clients and client teams, including independently delivering strategic advice and expanding relationships with existing clients.   
  • Serving as chief strategist for all client teams.  
  • Maintaining and nurturing high-level press and third-party external contacts.   
  • Providing fiscal stewardship of firm resources and client budgets.   
  • Providing mentorship and leadership to SKDK staff. 

A successful candidate will have:   

  • 12+ years of relevant experience in writing, research, and media-intensive positions such as political campaigns, in media, government, agency, or similar organizations.   
  • A commitment to creating an inclusive workplace, working collaboratively and with consideration for others.   
  • Deep experience placing national print and broadcast stories and booking principals on television.   
  • Strong writing and research skills with thorough knowledge of AP Style.   
  • A working knowledge of social media strategies for communications campaigns.   
  • Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.   
  • The ability to effectively manage multiple projects and handle competing deadlines. 

SKDK is committed to pay equity. SKDK believes the target range of base compensation in this role is $165,000-$185,000. In addition to base salary, SKDK considers other key components as part of total compensation, including but not limited to an annual discretionary bonus, commission on new business, and a comprehensive benefits package. Actual base compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors, such as skillset, level of experience, and location.
