Position: Skating Manager
Department: Ice Cove Figure Skating Department
Reports To: Director of Skating
Employment Type: Full Time

The Ghost Pirates Ice Cove is looking for a dynamic Skating Manager to lead day to day operations of the Figure Skating Department. The ideal candidate brings a passion for the sport of ice skating and will play a key role in leading the growth of ice sports in Southeast Georgia. We strive to grow the sport of skating in the region while positively impacting the Port Wentworth/Savannah community and skating world.

Scope of Work
• Lead, manage, and grow all skating programming including Learn to Skate, freestyle, specialty classes, camps, clinics, and events
• Establish a unified skating culture aligned with Zawyer Sports values that prioritize skaters development, character, and a positive rink environment
• Recruit, mentor, train, and manage skating instructors and part-time on-ice staff, setting clear expectations for customer-focused instruction
• Oversee program operations, class schedules, and ice allocation in coordination with rink operations to maximize ice utilization
• Drive program growth and financial sustainability by managing budgets, payroll approvals, and creating new initiatives
• Partner with marketing and customer service teams to promote programs and communicate effectively with skaters and families
• Ensure compliance with USFS, Learn to Skate USA, SafeSport, and all Ice Cove policies and procedures
• Serve as Manager-on-Duty (MOD) during select shifts to support overall facility operations

• Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays
Recommendations
• 5+ years experience coaching or managing skating programs
• Experience working with children (and adults when applicable)
• Strong understanding of skating development pathways
• Experience supervising staff and managing schedules
Ability to work nights, weekends and occasional travel.
