Job description

Salary: Part time/Hourly

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma/GED or equivalent preferred. Knowledge in maintenance/janitorial tasks, skill in problem solving and decision making, and skill in written and oral communication. Must meet Park Board employment and physical standards, which include a background check as well as drug and alcohol screening. Experience and training which demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and aptitude to perform the defined duties.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Represents the special event and CPRST brand while greeting visitors and vendors.
  • Helps maintain an environment that upholds CPRST safety and cleanliness standards.
  • Facilitates general and custodial maintenance duties such as monitoring and maintaining appropriate cleaning supplies inventory and maintenance of all areas of the event including, but not limited to, pedestrian traffic areas, attendee common areas, restrooms, food court, and parking areas.
  • Provides effective and efficient retail customer service such as answering product questions, assisting with product selection, serving as cashier, and accurately operating POS system.
  • Assists in facilitating set-up and breakdown of events, including cleaning between special events.
  • Provides site security and gate control, ensuring pedestrian areas remain free of unauthorized moving vehicles.
  • Facilitates customer service for ice rink patrons including, but not limited to, skate rental, admittance to ice rink, operation of POS system, assistance with first aid, and other patron needs.
  • Ensures the clean and safe operation of the ice rink attraction, inspecting the ice surface regularly and servicing as needed.
  • Administers opening and/or closing responsibilities for the special event.
  • Assists in festival functions as needed and maintains a cooperative disposition.
  • Exhibits a friendly, professional demeanor at all times while serving the needs of visitors and vendors.
  • Attends all meetings as required by supervisors.
  • Maintains professional internal and external relationships in keeping with CPRST core values and customer service standards.
  • Work hours may vary, which will frequently include nights, weekends, and some holidays, with hours varying based on time of year, events, and projects.
  • Exhibits a high level of professionalism and integrity at all times.
  • Exhibits proficiency in written and oral communication.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisors.


WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

Work is frequently outside in various weather conditions, with occasional exposure to adverse weather conditions, and standing for an extended amount of time.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS;

The physical demands described here represent those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching with hands and arms, climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and lifting while performing job duties. Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts. Work may also require the use of motorized equipment, climbing ladders, and using tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity. Must be able to routinely lift fifty pounds of weight without assistance.
