Job description
The Professional Standards Specialist I is an entry-level position which supports the agency's accreditation and policy functions under the direction and guidance of the Professional Standards Supervisor. The position assists with maintaining accreditation readiness for the assigned accredited discipline through policy review, proof gathering, and support of the agency's document control system. This role develops foundational knowledge and skills in professional standards and accreditation through structured training, coursework, and on-the-job experience while ensuring accurate documentation, efficient workflow, and consistent support for accreditation efforts across the organization.
Education and Qualification Requirements
- Minimum: High School Diploma or Equivalency
- Valid Florida Driver's License
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Basic knowledge of general office equipment
- Basic knowledge of Power Document Management System (PDMS) preferred
- Basic knowledge of Adobe Acrobat Pro
- PowerDMS class certificates obtained within one (1) year of appointment:

Duties
- Set up, maintain and scan accreditation files for primary and secondary proof of compliance
- Assist with review of agency manuals and standard operating procedures for accreditation compliance
- Review, update, and maintain written directives as required/directed
- Attend and participate in meetings, training sessions, seminars, and conferences as directed/required
- Disseminate accreditation-related information to agency employees
- Assist mock and onsite assessors with their duties while conducting the agency's assessment/reaccreditation
- Monitor, review and maintain agency report files
- Assist with the preparation, review, and submission of accreditation-related reports and summaries
- Assist with the annual audit of agency reports
- Assist in preparing policy manual updates and policies
- Receive, route, initiate, and disseminate telephone calls/messages and emails
- Maintain confidential files
