As an Engineering Manager, you will play a key leadership role in advancing critical platform capabilities that support data movement, insights generation, and core business operations across the organization. You will help lead highly visible engineering initiatives focused on modernization, scalability, reliability, and operational excellence within a fast-moving and evolving technology environment.

This role requires a hands-on leader who can bring clarity, focus, and momentum to complex initiatives while effectively navigating ambiguity, competing priorities, and organizational change. You will serve as a force multiplier for both engineering teams and leadership by strengthening execution discipline, improving cross-functional alignment, and helping teams consistently deliver meaningful business outcomes.

What you'll be doing 

  • Lead day to day execution and operational management for the Data Exchange and Performance Analyzer engineering teams
  • Drive sprint delivery, backlog execution, dependency coordination, risk mitigation, and production support activities
  • Partner with Product, Architecture, Platform Engineering, Security, QA, and SRE teams to deliver scalable software solutions and platform improvements
  • Support modernization initiatives involving cloud-native technologies, CI/CD pipelines, observability, automation, and platform operations
  • Coach and develop engineers and technical leads through mentorship, feedback, and performance management
  • Foster strong engineering practices across software development, quality assurance, agile delivery, and operational readiness
  • Improve delivery predictability, team effectiveness, and operational stability through metrics, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Help teams navigate blockers, escalations, and shifting priorities while maintaining focus on business outcomes
  • Support adoption of AI-assisted engineering workflows and modern development practices
  • Contribute to hiring, onboarding, resource planning, and organizational growth

What you will need to be successful

  • Bachelor's degree in a technology-related field or equivalent practical experience
  • Proven experience leading software engineering teams in agile environments, including delivery ownership across the full SDLC lifecycle. Experience with AI-assisted or agentic development practices is a plus
  • Strong technical background with the ability to support, guide, and advocate for engineers while partnering effectively with technical and business stakeholders
  • Experience managing modern software development initiatives using technologies such as C#, .NET, SQL Server, Azure, Angular, and TypeScript
  • Familiarity with engineering and architecture practices including object-oriented design, domain-driven design, behavior-driven development, service-oriented architecture, and event-driven distributed systems
  • Understanding of cloud-native engineering, CI/CD pipelines, observability, platform operations, and scalable system design
  • Demonstrated success driving execution, accountability, and operational excellence across complex, cross-functional initiatives
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and customer service orientation with the ability to build trust and alignment across teams
  • Ability to adapt quickly to evolving business priorities, organizational change, and fast-moving delivery environments
  • A servant leadership mindset with a passion for coaching teams, improving engineering practices, and delivering meaningful business outcomes

Salary Range$127000.00 To $165,000.00/ yearBenefits & Perks

The actual compensation offer is determined based on job-related knowledge, education, skills, experience, and work location. Onboarding & Travel

This is a remote role, with an in-person onboarding training component. New team members must participate in Trailhead, HealthEquity's immersive onboarding experience Trailhead is designed to foster meaningful connections, support your integration into the organization, and equip you with a strong understanding of our business. Trailhead participation is a key expectation of this role. Trailhead is held onsite at our headquarters once per quarter. HealthEquity covers all required travel and accommodations. 

This role may begin with a virtual, self-paced onboarding experience, followed by a mandatory onsite Trailhead session at a later date.
