Sit-Down Forklift Operator

Openwork is currently engaged in a search to find an experienced Sit-Down Forklift Operator in Canton, GA. In this dynamic and essential role, you will be responsible for transporting heavy corrugated cardboard materials using specialized extended and tapered forks within a fast-paced manufacturing facility. In a Sit-Down Forklift Operator job, you'll be responsible for:

  • Safely operating a sit-down forklift equipped with extended and tapered forks to move, stack, and stage corrugated cardboard product.
  • Loading and unloading freight trucks efficiently to maintain uninterrupted production schedules.
  • Transporting raw materials and finished goods safely throughout the manufacturing plant.
  • Performing daily pre-shift equipment inspections on your sit-down forklift to ensure safe operation.
  • Wrapping, labeling, and securing corrugated cardboard bundles for transit.
  • Assisting with warehouse organization and maintaining clean work aisles.
  • Collaborating with the production team to keep staging areas supplied with necessary materials.

What you'll need:

  • Proven experience safely operating a sit-down forklift.
  • Specific hands-on experience using extended and tapered forks (preferred).
  • Prior exposure to a manufacturing or corrugated cardboard environment.
  • Strong awareness of workplace safety protocols and OSHA standards.
