Job Description

ADGA Group is currently seeking a Junior Modelling & Simulation Software Developer to join our team supporting the Canadian Armed Forces in the delivery of advanced simulation and training capabilities.

In this role, you will contribute to the client’s Persistent Distributed Synthetic Training (DST) Range project and support a variety of simulation-based training initiatives within a dynamic defence environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting activities related to the client’s Persistent DST Range project
  • Maintaining and updating DST Range activities within the client dashboard environment, including Microsoft SQL Server databases and custom web interfaces integrated with Microsoft Exchange and SharePoint on the Defence Wide Area Network (DWAN)
  • Coordinating with technical teams, including the Core Services Section, to support technical requirements and scheduling for Requests for Synthetic Effects (RFSEs), Persistent DST Range activities, and related initiatives
  • Communicating with client participants and external stakeholders to support activity planning and execution
  • Assisting in the coordination of Persistent DST Range activities as part of Force Development to Force Generation training pathways
  • Supporting Exercise Directors and Lead Planners, particularly for Canadian-hosted DST exercises and training events
  • Developing proficiency with software and tools used for scenario development, exercise support, hosting, and refinement of the client’s Persistent DST Range capability
Qualifications
  • Graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in the field of Sciences, Engineering, Computer Science, or Mathematics or a College Technical Diploma related to Information Technology, Software Development, or Computer Science
  • Minimum 1 year experience as a Software Developer performing the following tasks:  
    • Deriving functional requirements in a modelling and simulation environment
    • Designing simulation software in a modelling and simulation environment
    • Programming graphics using OpenGL, QT or equivalent product
    • Developing add-ons, extensions, or plug-ins
    • Designing, coding and testing using C++, C, or C# programming languages
    • Integrating and testing software
    • Investigating software products for use and integration into M&S applications
    • Generated test plans and procedures as well as written test reports in a “modelling and simulation environment

  • Must currently hold or be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret (Level II) Canadian Federal Government Security clearance.
