Position Overview:
KODA Technologies is seeking a HWIL Simulation Software Engineer to join our Flight Software / GNC / Modeling and Simulation Integration team that develops simulation software. The candidate will provide support for the integration and test of FSW, GNC, and simulation products in a Hardware in the Loop (HWIL) testbed. Our team is located in Huntsville, AL. Active Secret Clearance is required.
Key Responsibilities:
This person will join a highly skilled team of Modeling and Simulation engineers and software developers supporting advanced technology demonstrations. HWIL Simulation Software Engineer tasks include:
  • Maintain and develop simulation software
  • Integrate, verify, and validate subsystem truth simulation models into a vehicle-level simulation
  • Develop and integrate end-to-end test scripts that drive the HWIL for requirements V&V
  • Work closely with Navigation, Guidance & Control, Flight Software, and HWIL teams to ensure compliance with integration standards and test procedures
  • Understand and operate the Hardware In the Loop Testbed, including configurations, tools, and processes
  • Collaborate with engineering groups to resolve technical problems, communicate status, and maintain documentation
  • Uphold rigorous standards and processes through strong organizational and communication skills

Required Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary STEM degree with 5 - 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Willing to work onsite in a classified area/lab environment
  • Experience developing and maintaining simulation software.
  • Experience with Linux, C++, MATLAB, and/or Python
  • Experience with integrating and testing hardware/software products or equivalent technical experience
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve software configuration or baseline issues during integration and installation phases
  • Review problem reports and enhancement requests to assess impacts on testing and regression plans
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Desired Skills and Experience:
  • Experience with DevOps/DevSecOps CI/CD pipelines and software version control such as Git
  • Experience deploying software that satisfies real-time performance requirements
  • Experience in weapon system and/or sensor modeling, both for the items to be modeled, and the synthetic modeled environments used to stimulate the simulated hardware
  • Knowledge of systems engineering principles, including requirements development and verification

Clearance: Active DoW Secret Clearance; U.S. citizenship is required
