Global IE is seeking an intern to support the development and application of simulation models for capacity analysis and process optimization of specialized semiconductor manufacturing tools. The intern will play a key role in evaluating tool performance, identifying system bottlenecks, and quantifying the impact of process and configuration changes through data-driven analysis.
This role provides hands-on experience in discrete-event simulation, scenario development, and advanced analytics, working closely with Global IE engineers to model real-world manufacturing systems and support capacity improvement decisions.
Required Qualifications:
Seeking Undergraduate or Masters student in Industrial and Systems Engineering, Operations Research, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics or other related programs.
Ideal candidates will have experience in the following areas:
- Programming and data analysis (Python, R, Julia, or similar)
- Discrete-event simulation knowledge is preferred
- Data-driven problem solving and statistical analysis
- Strong analytical thinking and root cause analysis
- Can communicate complex technical solution to a non-technical audience using visuals, examples etc.
- Self-motivated; able to take initiative and effectively prioritize work for self
- Collaborative working style
