Job description

Job Title

Pay: Base Wage starting at $15.66; increased based on experience

Incentive Eligible Position: Yes

Essential Functions:

  • Interviews patients and accurately enters patient demographics into the registration database.
  • Accurately enters insurance information into the registration database and reviews benefit information to determine up-front payment requirements.
  • Accurately posts up-front payments made by patients.
  • Confirms pre-admission information.
  • Obtains signatures on legal consents and insurance forms.
  • Verifies patient identity by checking identification, preparing and placing identification band on patients.
  • Admits emergency room and maternity patients.
  • Coordinates with the ER physician and staff with patient transfers by communicating with the ambulance and/or med flight staff.
  • Highly organized and able to perform professionally under pressure.
  • Able to multitask and is always aware of surroundings.
  • Accurately ensures that orders have been obtained and are copied in the registration database.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality.

Skills Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all levels.
  • Ability to complete competency CPR and First Aid.
  • Ability to perform simple mathematical equations.
  • Ability to prioritize and compete multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of simple computer processes.

Working Conditions:
