ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY

SUMMARY: Cal Poly Pomona Enterprises are currently hiring fine dining servers for The Restaurant at Kellogg Ranch (RKR). The Restaurant at Kellogg Ranch (RKR) is a student-operated fine dining restaurant at Cal Poly Pomona's Collins College of Hospitality Management. It provides a hands-on learning environment where students gain real-world experience in restaurant operations, culinary arts, and guest service, with a strong emphasis on professionalism, excellence, and hospitality.

SOME OF THE THINGS THAT YOU WILL GET TO DO (this is just a small sampling of work variety):

  • Provide attentive, professional, and friendly tableside service.
  • Greet and seat guests; present menus and explain menu items, specials, and wine pairings.
  • Take accurate food and beverage orders and ensure timely delivery.
  • Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure order accuracy and quality.
  • Maintain knowledge of menu offerings and service standards.
  • Process payments and handle POS (MICROS Simphony) transactions.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area.
  • Assist with restaurant setup, service, and closing duties.
  • Maintain a polished and professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Deliver service consistent with fine dining expectations.
  • Demonstrate strong communication, teamwork, and attention to detail.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous full-service dining server experience preferred.
  • Strong interest in hospitality and guest service.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including lunch, dinner, and weekends.
  • Professional attitude and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with current Collins College student employees.
