Job description

Job Title:         Graphic Design Teacher                                           Wage/Hour Status: Exempt 
Reports to:      Campus Principal                                                      Pay Grade:  AP 2T187 Days
Dept./School:  Assigned campus                                                     Date Revised:   11/18/2025 
Primary Purpose:
Teach Graphic Design and/or Commercial Photography to students. Work with students to design, photograph and create in Adobe suite to prepare them for certification tests and careers in the Graphic Design field
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:











  • Valid teacher certification

  • Technical Education
  • Bachelor's degree - preferred

 
Preferred Experience:

  • At least three (3) years' experience working with graphic design, AV, commercial photography or related fields.

 
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Instructional Strategies:


  1. Prepare students to pass the industry-based certification exam for graphic design.
  2. Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of TEA curriculum in Arts, A/V Tech & Communications.
  3. Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for differences in student learning styles.
  4. Conduct assessment of student learning style and use results to plan instructional activities.
  5. Work with other members of staff to determine instructional goals, objectives and methods according to district and state requirements.
  6. Use technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process.

 
Student Growth and Development:

  1. Be a positive role model for students and support the mission of the school district.
  2. Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned.
  3. Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal teaching.
  4. Help students analyze and improve study methods and habits.
  5. Participate in related Career Tech Student Organization's (CTSO's) for their program including preparing and traveling with students to competitions if applicable.

  1. Create classroom environments conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
  2. Manage student behavior in accordance with Student Code of Conduct and student handbook.
