Job description

Ford AV is looking for a hands-on Field Engineer to test, troubleshoot, and fine-tune commercial audio, video, and control systems across a wide range of environments. You’ll travel to project sites to ensure each system is performing at its best.

With an average travel percentage of 75%, this role also offers $40 per overnight away from home in per diem, in addition to base pay.

  • Commission AV Systems – Run performance checks and verify full functionality of sound, video, and control systems.
  • Troubleshoot On-Site – Solve technical issues in the field to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Verify & Configure – Label connections, configure IP-addressable devices, and complete detailed system handovers.
  • Travel Frequently – Support installations both locally and internationally.
  • Work with Clients – Provide guidance and support to ensure the finished system meets expectations.

Qualifications

  • Experience testing and troubleshooting commercial AV systems
  • Familiarity with control systems and digital signal processing (DSP)
  • Basic networking knowledge (IP configuration, routers/switches)
  • Willingness to travel frequently (domestic + international)

The employee must be able to apply established protocols in a timely manner to meet deadlines and effectively communicate to successfully perform all required responsibilities.
