Role Overview
We are seeking Signal Processing Engineers to research and develop future technology platforms supporting innovative adaptive communications and broad-range spectrum-sensing systems. This role involves working on projects that fuse advanced signal processing, adaptive communications, advanced algorithms, and machine learning to develop solutions for systems that include adaptive communications, intelligent wideband spectrum sensing, electronic warfare systems, and next-generation wireless network technologies. The ideal candidate will have a diversified background and experience with project planning, technical development, and the ability to create innovative ideas from concept to prototype.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, characterize, and test leading-edge waveform and communications technologies.
  • Apply mathematical, statistical, and computational techniques to generate algorithms for processing digital or analog signals.
  • Utilize engineering and mathematical principles to compose algorithm structures for problem solutions, including filtering and data fusion methods.
  • Support and perform adaptive algorithm research and participate in project execution.
  • Contribute to the development of innovative concepts and research programs in communications technology.
  • Investigate, develop, and document technology approaches and solutions for research programs.
  • Conduct solution and system design synthesis, translating objectives into requirements and architectures.
  • Develop AI/ML methods for controlling and optimizing communications systems performance.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to junior research staff and students.
Required Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field. Candidates currently enrolled in an accredited degree program relevant to this position with a graduation date no later than May 2026 will be considered.
Experience: Experience in professional signal processing development is required. This is an open-rank announcement, and the final job offer will be dependent on candidate qualifications. 0 years of related experience is required with a Bachelor's degree.
Technical Skills: Demonstrated experience in communications, spectrum sensing, electromagnetics, signal processing, machine learning/artificial intelligence, and applied mathematics.
Other Qualifications: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to work individually and in a team, and the capacity to operate effectively in a research environment with incomplete information are necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
  • An active Secret Clearance or higher.
  • A Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in professional signal processing development.
  • Background in communications and spectrum applications and related algorithms.
  • Experience in developing advanced communication systems and implementing waveforms on SDR platforms.
  • Expertise in electromagnetics, modeling & simulation, machine learning/artificial intelligence, image, or control theory.
  • Experience with electronic warfare threat systems and cellular communications systems (including ORAN).
  • Programming experience in MATLAB, C/C++ (C++11, C++20), and implementing algorithms in FPGAs (Xilinx) using HDL.
Compensation & Benefits
The salary range for this position is $95,000.00 to $160,000.00 annually. Compensation is determined by a number of factors, including the candidate's qualifications, experience, and skills.

10% - 25% travel may be required.
