Engineer 

Texas Research Institute (TRI) Austin is a small business with a 35-year history in applied materials science research and development for government and private industry. Our firm seeks an Engineer/Scientist with an advanced degree in Engineering for the Non-Destructive Evaluation (NDE) Division to support research and development efforts on site in SW Austin. An ideal candidate will become actively involved in:

Primary Responsibilities / Job Functions

  • THz inspection 
  • Project management, including:
  • On-time submission of deliverables
  • Maintaining project schedules and budgets
  • Overseeing technical progress
  • Keeping sponsoring organization stakeholders are informed
  • Ensuring project goals are met
  • Ensuring future paths for further work are available
  • Thermographic inspection
  • MM wave inspection
  • Digital signal processing (signal sampling, amplification, and processing/filtering), 
  • Document progress and activities for reports to customer
  • Write and review technical reports 
  • Compose technical and cost proposals  


This is an In-Person position. Facility located in SW Austin, Texas.

  • Ability to multitask and successfully navigate shifting project and internal company priorities

  • Eddy current inspection
  • Ultrasonic inspection
  • X-ray/CT inspection
  • Electromagnetic inspection


Requirements

This is an In-Person position. Facility located in SW Austin, Texas.


The ability to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance is mandatory.

M.S. level or Ph.D. in an engineering field is required for this position. Additional certifications (such as PMP, ASNT certifications) are a plus, but not required. Travel will be required as necessary to meet project and business development goals.
